The Confederate battleflag

People who support the flag say it's a historical symbol.
Unfortunately, the history it symbolizes and represents is one of hate, violence and slavery.
So much so, that neo-Nazis all over the world have adopted the Confederate battleflag as a symbol of hate and supression, after the swastika got banned.

So, this flag is so racist that it serves as a backup symbol for the Nazi swastika, the most racist and fascist symbol ever used, which has become a synonym for evil.
That alone should be enough evidence that the Confederate battleflag is offensive.

Not to mention the fact that people who yearn for the days of the Confederate States of America call themselves patriotic Americans and yet yearn for the days they weren't a part of it.
How can you wave the flag of the greatest enemy the United States of America ever faced and still claim you're a patriotic American?

More American lives were lost during the Civil War then during the Independance War fighting the British.
More then all the other wars America has been involved in, in fact.
And let's not forget the reason why the CSA wanted this war: To keep their slaves.

So to all those out there who still pretent waving the Confederate flag is about history and southern pride:
Every one of you is a liar.
Having a Confederate flag in a historical museum, or using them during Civil War re-enactments, that is historical.
But having a Confederate flag on the back of your pickup truck, or on a capitol building, or anywhere else in public, has nothing to do with history.
It has everything to do with race.

Waving the Confederate flag in public is a deliberate attempt to provoke the black community.
It is a globally established symbol of hate, fascism, racism, violence, slavery and intimidation.
It is as much a symbol of evil as the Nazi swastika.
Of this there can be no doubt.

The only thing I can say to people who wave the Confederate battleflag and continue to claim that this is not about being a racist, but about history, heritage, bloodlines etc:

So accept that and stop pretending it isn't a symbol of hatred, oppression, slavery and racism.
